Kingsway Little Athletics Centre

Kingsway Little Athletics Centre was founded in 1977 with just one club and 210 children. Today, they are proud to be one of the largest Little Athletic Centres of Western Australia and welcome hundreds of athletes and families each year. Kingsway is one of many Centres that have affiliated clubs. These clubs train on their own grounds and then meet up at the Centre to compete in weekly competitions.

Little Athletics is an Australian activity that children aged 3-16 years can enjoy. It is based on track and field athletics and modified for children of different abilities. There is many running, jumping and throwing events.

Little Athletics is for everyone. Parents are welcome to get fit, have fun, make friends, and learn new skills. Many volunteers have become lifelong friends at the Centre. So, no matter your level of experience, don’t be afraid to try it. Isn’t that what their children ask them to do?

With their excellent facilities, committed volunteers, strong financial position, and support from their local community, they aim to be a centre that caters to all athletes. They are looking forward to welcoming your family and friends to the KLAC community.

In 1977, Kingsway Little Athletics Centre was founded with just one club and 210 competitors. The centre has been a great success and has produced many state and national officials as well as athletes.

These numbers have increased significantly over the past forty-four years thanks to the passion and dedication of volunteers. Kingsway had eight clubs and more than 800 athletes in the 2012/13 season. Their registered athletes dropped to 500 per club after the Swan Valley Little Athletics Centre was established in 2014. They are the state’s largest Little Athletics Centre, and have been for many seasons.

Their Centre has a proud history in their community. It fills them with pride when they see so many families returning to the Centre with their third generation of athletes, looking to create their own fond memories just like their grandparents and parents.

Little Athletics Australia’s Mission Statement states that the mission of Little Athletics Australia is to “develop children of all abilities through positive attitudes and healthy lifestyles through family and community participation in athletic activities.” Kingsway LAC strongly believes in this.
