Wanneroo Community Men's Shed

The Wanneroo Community Men’s Shed is an organization that is non-profit and open to all men. Its main goal is to enhance your health as well as the wellbeing of its members as well as to promote more social participation by participating in activities that benefit the community.

The main focus of the shed is the recycling and refurbishing of computers. After refurbishment, the computers are available for sale at an affordable price, and are available to Centrelink recipients, charities and non-profit organizations.

The shed also has a metalwork and woodworking area in which members can complete tasks that support community-based initiatives. There is also an area of salvage in which electronic equipment that is that are not suitable for recycling can be sold in the form of recycled materials.

The Wanneroo Community Men’s Shed was founded in 2009 and was given temporary residence in the chicken sheds of the Agricultural Society located at the Wanneroo Showground.

The shed was destroyed by fire and its contents, and the shed was relocated onto The Hainsworth Centre, and then to Daisy House in Girrawheen and Buckingham House in Wanneroo.

The Shed was registered as an incorporation organization on the 1st of Western Australia 2010, and was granted the Australian Corporate Number through the Australian Taxation Office. It also is registered as a recipient of donors for tax offset to offset tax.

The shed received the support of Lotterywest and the Gaming Community Trust and made the needed balance out of its own fund for building to purchase Creative Street. Creative Street warehouse.

Furniture is built by members of the school by participating in The Buddy Bench initiative.
